SPECIALIZED SERVICES The Caring Community provides social services for seniors, including information and referral, and help with obtaining and maintaining benefits and entitlements such as Medicare, Medicaid, Meals-on-Wheels, HEAP, food stamps, Access-a-Ride, etc.
DAILY MONEY MANAGEMENT Our Daily Money Management Coordinator assists members who need a hand with reading mail, paying bills, going to the bank, and organizing paperwork and bills. Our coordinator visits each of our centers and also makes home visits. THEATER CLUB Every week we solicit theaters for tickets to plays and concerts, giving members the opportunity to get a taste of the best of Broadway and Off-Broadway for a nominal fee. HEALTH & WELLNESS The Caring Community provides annual flu shots and monthly blood pressure screenings with volunteers from St. Vincent’s Hospital. Nutrition counseling is offered quarterly, and each center develops and offers specific wellness activities, such as tai chi, yoga, etc.

HOMEBOUND REPAIR Each year we perform thousands of household repairs for seniors through our Homebound Repair Program. We help fix leaky taps, install grab bars, insulate windows and perform a range of other routine maintenance tasks that older adults may find difficult to do alone. CHAIR EXERCISE A collaboration with NYU that matches doctoral-level physical therapy students with our at-home population. The PT students design individual chair exercise programs for our clients and meet with them weekly.
